  • Ellen, Los CampesinosEllen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
  • Chuck, Simple PlanChuck, Simple Plan: ilikemusic because... It was always a way to escape whatever problems I was going through; whatever trouble I had, I could just put on a record or a song and feel better right away and I hope that our music can have the same effect on our fans.
  • dawn Leonettidawn Leonetti: ilikemusic because... it makes me spin, giggle and bubble up - kinda my own Rice Crispies cereal ("snap, crackle, pop") in the audio form...
  • Alicia KeysAlicia Keys: ilikemusic because... it makes you feel!
  • Alfonso, The HoosiersAlfonso, The Hoosiers: ilikemusic because... Because, because, because, because, because of the wonderful things he does… I’m off to see the wizard…[singing] the wonderful wizard of oz…

Madonna and Taio Cruz Top Charts

Other new entries in the Top 10 UK album chart came from Cliff Richard and The Shadows with Reunited at six and Backspacer by Pearl Jam at number nine.

As one of the busiest weeks for new album releases this year, other new entries into the album chart came from Madness, Richard Hawley, Tommy Steele and Michael Bolton.

Following the much publicised release of the remastered Beatles back catalogue, only three of their albums now remain within the top 40. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band charted at number 31, Abbey Road charted at 33 and Revolver at 40.

In the singles chart Taio Cruz held onto his number one spot for a second week with Break Your Heart. This was followed by David Guetta featuring Akon at two with Sexy Chick, Jay Z featuring Alicia Keys with Empire State of Mind at three, She Wolf by Shakira at four and Jay Z featuring Rihanna and Kanye West with Run This Town at five.

New entries into the UK singles chart came in the form of Dirtee Cash, Dizzee Rascal's cover of the 1990's dance classic Dirty Cash (Money Talks) at 10, and former Eurovision hopeful Jade Ewen at number 35 with her single My Man.page << 1 2 >>
