My Chemical Romance knocked Razorlight's America single off the top spot, after climbing to number one from number 23. In the past year, the band have used the internet and their live performances to build up a big fanbase.

Meanwhile in the album chart, The Killer's album, Sam's Town kept its top spot position.Trivium scored the highest new entry in the album chart with their rock ablum, Trivium's The Crusade, charting at number seven. Luther Vandross's The Ultimate album went straight in at number 12 while Connie Fisher entered the chart at number 14
Sting's Songs From The Labyrinth - an album of lute music by 16th Century composer John Dowland - topped the classical chart and entered the main chart at number 24.
