The nominations for this year's Mercury Music Prize have been revealed. Jools Holland announced the shortlist of 12 albums, which will battle it out for this year's award. The 12 Albums of the Year shortlisted for the 2006 Nationwide Mercury Prize, were announced on Tuesday 18 July highlighting a rich year for musical excellence.
