Oasis Top Album Charts With Dig Out Your Soul

Dig Out Your Soul, the seventh studio album from Oasis, has shot straight to the top of the album chart.

This marks their first number one in the album charts since Don't Believe The Truth in 2005 and continues their impressive, unbroken string of number one albums since Definitely Maybe in 1994.

The number one single has stayed the same for another week, with Pink's So What, topping the chart.

Kings Of Leon follow closely behind Oasis and Pink with their single, Sex On Fire, at number two in the singles chart and their album, Only By The Night, at number two in the album chart.

Let It Go, the fourth studio album from Will Young, fell one place to number three in the albums chart, while Good Girl Gone Bad, the third studio album from Rihanna, rose one place to number four, continuing her impressive stint in the charts with an album released in June 2007.

Falling two places to number five was James Morrison's latest album Songs For You, Truths For Me.

The highest new entry in this weeks album charts came from Bob Dylan with The Bootleg Series Vol. 8 - Tell Tale Signs: Rare and Unreleased 1989-2006.

The highest new entry in this weeks single chart came from the Kaiser Chiefs with their single Never Miss A Beat entering the chart at number five.
