Paolo Nutini Tops Album Chart

Sunny Side Up, the second album from Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini, has entered the UK album charts at number one.

This was followed by Daniel Merriweather's album Love & War, produced by Mark Ronson, which charted at number two this week.

As a result of these high chart positions the former number one album Eminem's Relapse, fell two places to chart at number three.

Another sucessfull week for Simon Cowell and his Syco label as two of his recent acts appeared within the top five. Escala, the UK string quartet and Britain's Got Talent 2008 finalists fell two places to chart at number four this week. This was followed at number five by Passione, the second album from British tenor Paul Potts, winner of the first series of Britains Got Talent in 2007.

Former number one single Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal fell to chart at number two this week as The Black Eyed Peas reclaimed the number one spot in the UK singles chart with their single Boom Boom Pow.

This was followed by Kasabian's latest single Fire at number three, the only new entry in the top 10 this week.

Having stuck in the charts for 21 weeks so far, Poker Face by Lady GaGa rose one place to chart at number 12 this week.

New entries in the album chart came from Diana Krall at number 11 with her album Quiet Nights and Eels at 18 with Hombro Lobo.
