REM Suprise Gig For Oxford Zodiac Crowd

REM surprised the audience at Oxford Zodiac club last night, appearing on stage to performed two songs on (January 7), at a gig by legendary Robyn Hitchcock.

Peter Buck, guitarist for REM was already performing in Hitchcock's band, the Athens, Georgia, but Michael Stipe and bassist Mike Mills joined them on stage to perform 1996 track 'Electrolite', before debuting a brand new, unreleased song.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was in the audience, all of whom left on a high thanks to seeing not only one of their heroes in Robyn Hitchcock, but an added bonus with REM appearing before them.

Hitchcock's new album is called 'Ole! Tarantula' and his tour continues:
