Last year, the Radio 1 Live Lounge album was one of the unexpected hits in the run up to Christmas.
The album, which consisted of 40 tracks recorded for Jo Whiley's influential daytime show on the station, sold over 800,000 copies and topped the compilation charts for several weeks. It was no surprise however to fans of the show, as it had long been regarded as one of the highpoints of the programme - when all the very biggest names in music would play stripped down versions of their hits, and sometimes performed inspired cover versions.
Therefore, it's also no surprise that a new double album 'Radio 1's Live Lounge: 2' is out now, released on 22nd October 2007 on SonyBMG.
