Revive @ The Brook, Southampton

Doesn't it rock when you find a near-perfect venue less than 20 minutes from your home, hook up with solid true friends you've not seen in years, and get to enjoy a bit of a boogie to some uplifting and funk fuelled music? Well, that was the scenario at Revive, the live soulful funky house experience at The Brook in Southampton.

Everytime I've been to The Brook it's delivered, both as a venue and in terms of what the artists on stage provide. The last time I went there, DJ Format was raising the roof with his incredibly funky hip hop set, complete with dope MCs, Abdominal and D-sisive AND breakdancers.

This time was a completely different animal, but a friendly and exhilerating one, nonetheless.

In association with Benzo and Soundbass Promotions, Revive returned after the summer months with a packed line up of talented local DJs who played their beats alongside other live artists. These included the outstanding vocalist Krysten Cummings who is one of the world's leading house vocalists and has featured on Soul Avengerz' It's Alright, Lovin and Touch Me Baby, among other tracks.
