Rihanna Does Double and Dominates UK Charts

Rihanna has done a double, topping both the UK album and singles chart at the same time. Her single Umbrella is at number one in the UK singles chart for the fourth week in a row, while her new album, Good Girl Gone Bad, went straight in at number one.

This is her third album and the first time she's secured a number one album in the UK. Biffy Clyro's fourth album, Puzzle, entered the album chart at number two, while The Twang's Love It When I Feel Like This was in at three.

Sir Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full album went straight into the album chart at number five just behind Maroon 5 who's It Won't Be Soon Before Long slipped to number four. Dizzee Rascal's third album, Maths & English entered the chart at number seven, while Mutya Buena's Real Girl album went straight in at number ten, as her single climbed to number two, behind Rihanna.

The highest new entry in the singles chart was the White Stripes, Icky Thump single, entering the chart at number 13. Meanwhile, Calvin Harris's The Girls climbed to number three, and Gym Class Heroes climbed a place back up to number four with Cupid's Chokehold. Reverend & The Makers were at number eight with Heavyweight Champion Of The World, closely followed by Enrique Iglesias and Do You Know at nine and Timbaland at ten with Give It To Me.
