Robbie Williams and Mcfly top UK charts

Robbie Williams has gone straight in at number one in the UK album charts with his new album, Rudebox. While McFly have claimed their place at the top of the singles chart with their Star Girl single. Rudebox is Robbie's eighth number one album, so he'll be celebrating while on tour in South America.

All top four albums in the album chart were new entries this week. Including My Chemical Romance who charted at number 2 with The Black Parade. Rod Stewart with his Still The Same album and Meat Loaf with Bat Out Of Hell 3.

The Killers, knocked off the top spot by Robbie, saw their Sam's Town album drop to number five.

In the singles chart, Fedde le Grande's Put Your Hands Up For Detroit went straight in at number two, just behind McFly, while My Chemical Romance slipped to number four with Welcome To The Black Parade, while Girls Aloud climbed two places to number three.

Beyonce's new Irreplaceable single entered the chart at number five. Razorlight's America single dropped to number six in the singles chart, but stayed at the top of the download singles chart. Amy Winehouse climbed from 19 to number seven with her Rehab single. Her new album, Back To Black is released October 30th.

New entries in the singles chart included The Magic Numbers, who charted at number 16 with Take A Chance, Rihanna, who entered the chart at 17 with her We Ride single, and The Kooks who went straight in at number 20 with their new single, Ooh La La.
