Stephen Fretwell - New York

He's just completed a UK tour and, following the success of his last single 'Emily' (a top 10 airplay hit), his critically acclaimed debut album 'Magpie' has now gone gold and Stephen Fretwell is firmly on his way to becoming one of the countries most important artists.

Despite it's title, 'New York' is not necessarily about the city of that name. It's about escaping, about a dream and has more to do with Scunthorpe than the Big Apple. With the opening line "Please can we go away…." it's emotive and touching and a huge live favourite. The single is a new version, featuring strings.

The single is available in two formats - 2 track CD single of New York (new version), and A Bit Like You (live from the Apple Store, London), a 7" single with the explicit version of New York b/w new track Angela.

Stephen has also contributed a track 'Morning Theft' for the upcoming 'Dream Brother - The Songs of Tim and Jeff Buckley' compilation, released on Full Time Hobby on Oct 3rd.
