Craig David: ilikemusic because... It’s all meTake That have topped the UK charts for the second week in a row and have also become the first band ever to top five British charts in the same week. As well as retaining their number one in both the UK album and singles charts, the newly reformed band have also topped the download single and album chart, along with the DVD chart. In doing so, Take that have "re-written the record books". Having split up in 1996 soon after Robbie William's departure, Britain's favourite boy band reunited last year to perform at sell-out gigs and their this chart success must be the cherry on the comeback cake.
Their new single, Patience retained it's place at the top of the singles chart, while the boys album, Beautiful World, kept its position at the top of the album chart. This is the band's eighth number one single and third number one album.
Meanwhile, Booty Luv climbed a place from number three to number two with the club smash, Boogie 2Nite and Akon and Eminem's Smack That fell to number three.
The highest new UK singles chart entry was LazyTown's Bing Bang (Time To Dance), from their children's TV show at number four. Gwen Stefani's new single, Wind It Up went straight in at number eight, with Jamelia following close behind at number 10 with her Beware Of The Dog single. Fedde le Grand kept his place in the top ten with Put Your Hands Up (For Detroit) slipping from eight to number nine.
