10 YEAR OLD MAKES UK CHART HISTORY

Two months ago the country had never heard of The Choirboys, today Sunday (3rd Dec) a 10-year-old, and two 12-year-olds have broken all records achieving the biggest-selling debut album in the history of the UK classical charts (The Official UK Charts).

The Choirboys, the debut album from the world's first Choir boy-band, has achieved the highest first week sales in the history of the UK Classical chart, selling more then such household names as Pavarotti, Charlotte Church, Katherine Jenkins, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo and many more.

Co-Managed by Aled Jones, the original boy treble, The Choirboys have been signed to Universal Music, the home of Eminem, U2, Scissor Sisters and Girls Aloud.

Dickon Stainer General Manager Universal Classics and Jazz says ": "There is a great choral tradition in this country. Choir schools are a special world and they have been struggling to keep boys coming through the doors in the age of the Play Station. This group will have a huge impact on people's perceptions of choristers - these boys are doing for choirboys what Harry Potter did for boys in glasses".
