Daniel: ilikemusic because... When you can finally stop listening to mainstream so called POP and HIPHOP
artists you laugh at how bad it really is. ROCK ON MUSE
lolo: ilikemusic because... music is where some people display affection, show emotions and actually showing off who they are and their thinking. it is special unlike anything cos it goes out and never comes in back but in others.
Jo Whiley: ilikemusic because... It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.
pdog: ilikemusic because... it always makes me feel better
Jade: ilikemusic because... its amazing,, i always gotta listen to music, such as Nelly, Usher, T.I, ect if theres no music what else is there?
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!'There is a magical X factor at work in this band that leaves you bewildered and of course, thrilled' Observer Music Monthly
'The Future is now'NME
'Sunderland's finest come through with the most essential, spasmodic knee jerk arrangements since The Smiths Strangeways…' Dazed & Confused
'14 songs in just 33 rat-a-tata minutes makes this an exuberant debut' Q
'The long awaited antithesis of that maudlin swirl of post-post Coldplay bands, a reminder of that sacred quality of great music: surprise' The Guardian
There are cover versions and then there are cover versions. 'Hounds of Love' is none of the above. Let's face it, doing other people's stuff the last refuge of the creatively bankrupt; either b-side fodder (and "cool" positioning exercise) when all the "exclusive" live versions have run out, or easy pickings for X-Factor A&R departments after a familiar hit that won't frighten the horses.
It wasn't always this way (well, actually it probably was, but for the sake of argument stick with us). Time was when a Joe Cocker could take the unremarkable plod of The Beatles 'With A Little Help From My Friends' and turn it into something genuinely inspirational. Later, of course, The Clash positioned themselves perfectly as the conscious punk band with their ragged heartfelt reading of Junior Murvin's 'Police & Thieves'.
