The Kooks Eden Sessions 2009

British rockers The Kooks will headline an Eden Session on July 18.

The Kooks are the third confirmed big-name act for the Eden Project in 2009, following Kasabian who will play on July 4. Rock legends Oasis play a sold out gig on the Eden Project stage on July 14.

Famed for their catchy hooks and upbeat sensibility, Brighton four-piece The Kooks hit the top of the UK album charts with 2008's Konk, featuring the single Always Where I Need to Be.

Konk followed the band's 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out which reached number two in the charts. Seven of the 14 tracks from Inside Out/Inside In made it into the UK top 40, included top ten entries Naïve and She Moves Her Own Way.

In 2006, following Inside In/Inside Out's release, The Kooks were named Best UK and Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Peter Hampel, Eden's Creative Director, said: "The Kooks have already established a great reputation for really strong song-writing and for delivering high energy and uplifting live sets. On the back of a hotly tipped new album, they will be a real highlight of this year's Sessions."
