The Walkmen - You & Me and Live Dates
Set for release on September 29th 2008, You & Me is The Walkmen's fourth album and their first on Fierce Panda.
The Walkmen are of course men of stealth and craft, dressed in black and, one wagers, distressed at the lack of loving care and attention applied to modern music. Eight years since the mighty We've Been Had signalled the demise of Jonathan Fire Eater and heralded the start of something even weirder.
You & Me finds the enigmatic quintet in predictably moody form with fourteen tracks of fearsome ingenuity featuring their trademark clanging guitar, their spooked keyboards making like a gothic ice cream van on Mars, their drums rolling like a schooner in a force ten gale. Lead-off UK single The Blue Route sets the unsettled mood perfectly with the bruised, mournful voice of Hamilton Leithauser howling "What happened to you? What happened to you?" as the song craftily builds to a lush climax. Regrets? They've had a few. But then again, not too few to mention on this record.

The Walkmen - Bows and Arrows

Danny: ilikemusic because... It's my life
lolo: ilikemusic because... music is where some people display affection, show emotions and actually showing off who they are and their thinking. it is special unlike anything cos it goes out and never comes in back but in others.
Steff, Webmaster Musebr.com: ilikemusic because... the shows are very good, we make friends, we jump, and everybody scream so loud, and for a moment we forget all the problems of the world!
Terry, The Temptations: ilikemusic because... There’s no way I could ever imagine a world without music.
Ciarran, The Feeling: ilikemusic because... I find it constantly inspiring and it’s a joy to listen to and a joy to play; it really is a huge part of my life.
Demi: ilikemusic because... Girl's love music.
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
Lupe Fiasco: ilikemusic because... It gives me a chance to escape and reach people I wouldn’t ordinarily be able to reach. And without music the world would be kinda quiet.
dj.NOMSTA*: ilikemusic because... music likesme!
