Neil Diamond's Home Before Dark was knocked from the top spot to second place by the duo - Katie White and Jules de Martino. Although the pop veteran is still smiling, as he scored a chart double with his Best Of Collection coming in at number eight.
The Ting Tings have built up quite a fan base after their appearance at last year's Glastonbury. They also came third in the BBC's Sound of 2008 poll in January. Formed in Manchester, both White and Martino have been part of the music scene for a while. The Ting Tings were formed from their previous group Dear Eskiimo, whilst White was also part of a short lived girl group TKO.
Their single That's Not My Name is currently number two in the singles charts. Last week it went straight to number one but this week lost it's place to Rihanna's Take A Bow.
The most unexpected entrant in this weeks album chart comes in the form of The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz, who are currently top of the classical chart. They have stated that all funds received from their album will be used to fund the education of other Vietnamese Monks.
Entering the mainstream music chart at number nine they are recent winners of a talent search held by a record company looking for the best practitioners of Gregorian chant.
Other chart action saw Beth Rowley entering at number six with Little Dreamer and Mick Hucknall, former frontman of Simply Red, coming in at number 18, with Tribute to Bobby.
