Initial to 'Uncover' U2 TV special for ITV1

Endemol owned Initial has been commissioned by ITV to produce U2 Uncovered - a TV special for ITV1 presented by Cat Deeley.

For one night only, Cat Deeley will join U2 back stage in Manchester on the British leg of their mammoth world tour.

U2 Uncovered will feature exclusive interviews with Bono and the boys as they reflect on their metamorphosis from pop band into a phenomenon that has touched much of the western world, both musically and politically.

Cat will have access to the band, witnessing all that goes on both on stage and behind the scenes. We'll see the band in their element as they prepare for the ultimate high, performing live in front of thousands.

Featuring exclusive live tracks from their US tour, the programme will record all the action as Cat hangs out and speaks with the band and their crew, before and after the performance.


Executive Producer Phil Mount commented, " Having played to sold out stadiums worldwide for more than two decades, anybody that's seen U2's Vertigo tour will agree they remain the greatest rock band in the world. This one off special will take an intimate look at these four legends. Fans are in for a real treat. "


The TV special will capture how momentous a U2 concert really is but, moreover, with the help of Cat Deeley, will reveal the four very real people at its core.

Following the preparations throughout the day to the final moments before the band hits the stage; the documentary will give fans an insight into the lives of the one of the most popular bands in rock history.
