Without it there wouldnt be a Global GatheringThe Commercial Radio Network is working together to bring UK Music Week to the airwaves - a national event kicking off on Monday 24 April that will celebrate the very best of UK music with a week of exclusive artist interviews as well as live tracks from the best of established and new British artists. Every one of 272 commercial radio stations will be celebrating in their own style, with special events and gigs around the country, broadcasting to over 47 million listeners across the period.
The week will culminate with the UK Music Week Chart - a four-hour show, broadcast from 3-7pm on Monday 1 May across the Commercial Radio Network. The chart will count down the 40 most popular artists of all time, as voted for by listeners and will be packed with live performances from artists including Will Young, Sugababes and KT Tunstall, artist profiles and celebrity guest presenters including Ricky Gervais, Christian Slater, Sean Bean and Denise Van Outen.
Commercial radio listeners across the UK are voting furiously for their favourite all time artist - spanning all music genres, and from all over the UK - from George Michael to the Gorillaz, from Massive Attack to McFly. Listeners can vote by text to 82224 or by registering online at the official UK Music Week website www.ukmusicweek.co.uk which is packed with information on what's going on throughout the week as well as all the latest news and gossip from the music world.
