White Mischief Indoor Festival 7th June at The Scala, London
"The event of the week, the month, the year" - Time Out
The Scala, Kings Cross, London 8pm-3am
White Mischief is a one-night indoor 'festival' of astounding live music and extraordinary vaudeville. Curated by "tribal pop" band Tough Love and featuring four rooms of music and interactive experiences, White Mischief has developed a reputation as a spectacle like no other.
Fast becoming an acclaimed addition to London's alternative nightlife scene, White Mischief draws upon a decadent fashion sense embracing the aesthetic known as steampunk, where revellers in neo-Victorian outfits evoke the romantic ideals of Jules Verne and the industrial age. (Dressing up is encouraged but not compulsory!)
The theme is Around In The World In 80 Days, with bands and performers drawn from all corners of the globe - America, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Japan - so expect an international twist to an outstanding line-up that includes sword swallowing, comedy, snake charming, sufi dancing, an aerial acrobat and the Hall of Oracles, full of dark Eastern mystery.
For this sensory extravaganza the 1900s-era art nouveau cinema Scala will be transformed by art directors previously involved with Punchdrunk's celebrated show Masque of the Red Death.

There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
