White Stripes Top UK Album Chart

The White Stripes have secured their second UK number one album as Icky Thump entered the chart at the top this weekend, knocking supergroup Traveling Wilburys off the top spot. Enrique Iglesias's Insomniac made its entrance at number three. Having performed at the newly rebranded O2 Arena, Bon Jovi secured their place in the album chart at number four with Lost Highway, followed by The Police with their Greatest Hits collection at five.

Meanwhile in the UK singles chart, Rihanna celebrated her sixth week at number one with her Umbrella single featuring Jay-Z.

Lee Mead, winner of BBC1's Any Dream Will Do, climbed 16 places to number two, while Enrique Iglesias achieved third position with Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song). Calvin Harris' was at number four with The Girls while Kelly Rowland and Eve slipped a place to number five with Like This. The White Stripes' Icky Thump single made it to number six followed by The Editors with Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors at number seven.

Beyonce and Shakira's Beautiful Liar held steady at number eight, while U.S. hip hop group Gym Class Heroes dropped to nine with Cupid's Chokehold. Completing the top 10 was Never Again by Kelly Clarkson.
