Scissor Sisters shine at the Brits

The Scissor Sisters won the most awards of the evening with Best International Group, Best International Breakthrough Act and Best International Album for their self-titled debut.

They made their entrance bursting out of eggs laid by a giant pink chicken to singTake Your Mama. The set was created by the Muppets creator, with giant muppets joining them on stage.

Singer, Ana Matronic said: "If you told us a year ago we would be getting these awards today we would have called you crazy. You guys made our dream come true."

The band - whose self-titled album was 2004's biggest-selling album - thanked "all the members of the sisterhood", adding: "We wouldn't be here without you."

Other big winners at the ceremony including Franz Ferdinand, Joss Stone and Keane who all picked up two awards. Robbie Williams won best single of the past 25 years for Angels and performed a duet with Joss Stone.
