The independent vinyl and record stores of Berwick Street Soho will join forces on Saturday 20th April to celebrate Record Store Day.
Dubbed London's ‘Golden Mile of Vinyl’, since the 1980's the street has long been a destination for record collectors and music fans alike, still home to central London's largest concentration of independent record shops; Reckless Records, Sister Ray, The Music and Video Exchange, Sounds of the Universe around the corner on Broadwick Street, Black Market Soho on D’Arblay Street and Phonica on Poland Street.
With exclusive vinyl and CD releases available in-store for Record Store Day, Berwick Street will be hosting live music from 12-7pm; DJs in store, music quizzes, in-store parties and "a special appearance from a cult rock band and a punk/folk singer-songwriter." For one day only, the Berwick Street market will feature its own vinyl fair and a music history experience from The Museum of Soho.
Established in 2007, Record Store Day is the one day that independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day.
