The BRIT Awards have announced that the winner of this year's Critics' Choice Award is Emeli Sande. The young British singer has had her most successful year to date, going to number one in the UK Singles Chart for Read All About It, her collaboration with Professor Green, as well as landing a number two with her own solo single Heaven. Her debut album, Our Version Of Events, is due out in February, and Sande will perform at the BRITs Nominations Launch event at the Savoy Hotel on January 12th.
Previous winners of the Critics' Choice Award include Jessie J (2011), Ellie Goulding (2010), Florence and the Machine (2009) and Adele (2008), and this year's runners up were Maverick Sabre and Michael Kiwanuka.
The BRIT Awards will take place on February 21st at London's O2 Arena.
