His first musical output for three years, Jamie Cullum has today returned with Love For $ale ft. Roots Manuva. A cover of the Cole Porter classic the track was produced by Dan The Automator (DJ Shadow, Gorillaz) and is available as a free download from Jamie's website: www.jamiecullum.com
Speaking of his collaboration with Roots Manuva for the track Jamie stated: “Roots Manuva is an institution. He's incredibly musical and between making his own amazing albums he has collaborated with so many varied and brilliant artists. After I ripped off his bassline, I had the audacity to ask him if he wanted to write a verse for the track. Luckily he was up for it. He has a sense of timing and drama that works so well with a live band in this situation, a commanding voice and a presence that could fit alongside Cole Porter. How many people can do that?”
The track arrives alongside the news that Jamie has signed with Island Records for the release of his fifth album. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
