Diamond Jubilee Concert 2012

2012 is the year of the Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of The Queen's reign.

With celebrations taking place across 2-5th June 2012, The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert will take place on Monday 4th June 2012 near The Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace.

The concert is a joint venture between the BBC and Take That's Gary Barlow.

Today sees the first announcement of acts confirmed to play the gig. Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Jones and Jools Holland are all set to play, plus recent Brit nominee Ed Sheeran, Alfie Boe, Jessie J, JLS, Annie Lennox and Madness.

10,000 free tickets will be distributed to members of the public via an online national ballot at http://www.bbc.co.uk/diamondjubilee/concert-tickets.shtml

Tickets are to be allocated randomly, so as long as you apply by 23:59 hrs (GMT) on Friday 2nd March 2012, you will be in with a chance! You can also apply by post anytime between 7th February and 2nd March.

Ticket holders will also be able to attend a Jubilee picnic in the Buckingham Palace Garden.

The concert will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC One HD and BBC Radio 2. US viewers will be able to view highlights on ABC the next day.
