Music mogul Simon Cowell has announced his intention to launch a talent show for DJs. Joining forces - bizarrely - with actor and one-time rapper Will Smith, Cowell is turning his talent-spotting attention towards the world of the decks, looking to locate the world's most gifted DJ.
The show has not yet been named, but it has been confirmed that it will air in the UK and the US and that though Cowell will be pulling the strings behind the scenes he will not be judging the contestants.
Cowell commented on his decision to make the show thus: "DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show."
The X-Factor might be an ailing beast, but it doesn't look like we'll be free of Cowell's musical machinations for some time to come.
