On March 30th musical pioneer Squarepusher will take to the stage at London's legendary Roundhouse to deliver his spectacular Ufabulum live show.
The full support line-up has now been confirmed. A DJ set from recent DFA signings Factory Floor will precede main support The Bug, who will be arriving with Flowdan & Daddy Freddy to ensure his delivery sets the tone for the main event.
Following rave reviews of the sold-out show at Hackney Empire, LA's Hardfest and Sonar Festival last year, Ufabulum is set to rumble the foundations of the beautiful London Roundhouse. Featuring an LED display designed and programmed by Squarepusher himself, the live show arrives to support his latest groundbreaking and intense electronic record of the same name released by Warp Records in 2012.
Though the album stands alone as a listening experience, Squarepusher worked simultaneously on the creation of Ufabulum's visual components as he created the music. During our in-depth interview about the record, he explained that he had a very visual response to music, "A piece might evoke anything from a simple sensation of colour, to an arrangement of shapes, a sense of movement or a scene of some kind" and that subsequently, he began to explore the creation of image alongside his music, we asked him to explain how this may benefit a listener....
"We are quite possibly more visually sophisticated than we are sonically. Consequently, it might be worthwhile trying to make pictures which form a narrative which is analogous to the sound and to an extent, tries to explain it, to clarify it, make it more comprehensible and coherent."
