The Futureheads have today announced details of their new, fully A cappella album Rant.
Set to be released on 2nd April via their own label Nul Records, the album will feature a number of re-arranged Futureheads tracks plus medieval and traditional folk songs.
Chatting to I Like Music last year around the release of his side project Hyde & Beast, Futurehead Dave Hyde told us the record had been hard work:
"It's a completely different process to writing a guitar album, obviously. You spend all day singing rather than playing, it's been quite an odd process but we're all really chuffed with it. I think on some of the songs there's like forty vocal tracks to a part, you know? We kind of recorded one part, then swapped parts, then over-dubbed each others parts, whilst singing..."
Track three from the record will be Robot, originally the second track on their self-titled debut album. Listen to the a cappella version below:
The Futureheads have also announced a full UK tour in April 2012. Tickets will go on sale at 10am on 21st February 2012:
