Meanwhile Busted went bezerk backstage, having collected two gongs, for Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough Artist. Both Busted and The Darkness provided sterling performances at the show, with Busted thrashing out the Undertone's Teenage Kicks and The Darkness performing I Believe In A Thing Called Love, and Really Growing On Me.
Busted have been responsible for inspiring kids to ask their parents to buy them guitars, and sold 2 million albums last year - so they deserved to win their Best Pop accolade. (Although we think Dizzy Rascal or Jamie Cullum should've won Best Breakthrough). The Best Dance Award went to Basement Jaxx (shame Lemon Jelly missed out, as they should be awarded for their amazing and unique take on electronic music).
Other highlights of the show included:
*Beyonce's sizzling performance of Crazy In Love to which she appeared on stage in a puff of smoke, having been introduced by the phenomenal Outkast, who'd performed their smash hit Hey Ya. The sensational Beyonce wore £250,000 worth of diamonds and later picked up the award for Best International Female. Quite simply, Beyonce is a goddess!
