Feist - “Mushaboom”
'Mushaboom' is the beautiful new single from the massively acclaimed Canadian singer Feist released on September 13th on P Records.
Taken from her album 'Let It Die', 'Mushaboom' captures the spirit of our lives in these cosmopolitan cities when we wake up dreaming of living somewhere quiet. It's layered and homemade backdrop of guitars and percussion is straight out of a campfire out back of an old time music hall and has within it a powerful and overwhelming sense of hope and anticipation.
Recorded in Paris with Chilly Gonzales and Renaud Letang (Manu Chao's producer), it is its lack of complication that makes 'Let It Die' standout from much of today's musical offerings; put simply, a beautiful slice of sonic escapism to illustrate and interrupt the little moments that together tell us stories. Music to soundtrack your days and narrate your nights. 'Let It Die' is cinematic, expressive, sensory and incredibly fun…yes fun!
First released as a very ltd edition 10"vinyl only in early April on P Records, 'Mushaboom' has already become a firm favourite with leftfield djs and music fans alike.
She follows her recent triumphant Bush Hall headline show, and support slots alongside the Cure, Phoenix & Buck 65 with a performance as special guest to Ed Harcourt at London's Lock 17, NW1 on August 17th. This will be followed by a headline tour in September.
So there you have it…'Let It Die' and Feist: - The break up and the makeup. An album that will follow you easily from the bath to the bar and soundtrack your mood for both.
