Duran Duran New Single and Album

Nick was equally decisive: "I had entered discussions on the basis of a new album. Andy also said, 'I agree, we have to make new music, that's what we're about - the songs make us what we are.' When Andy and I agree, the other three usually don't want to argue! John, seeing us enthused, said, 'I'm in.' Then Roger, always very measured, said, 'Let's try it.' So we funded it ourselves and scurried off to the south of France. Then, in Big Brother style, we locked ourselves in a room. It was an intensive 10-day period. We discovered each other again."

The newly energised, 21st century Duran Dusanthen, was always going to pmvide is with brand new material to rival their best work. Their two-week sojourn in the south of France - what John refers to now as "that hedonistic Mediterranean experience" - produced a number of tracks that would form the basis of 'Astronaut': "Taste Of Summer", "Bedroom Toys", "Nice" and the basic structure of "Want You More".
