Alanis Morissette is set to release 'Eight Easy Steps' on October 11th on Maverick. The single is the latest to be taken from her warmly received current album release, 'So-Called Chaos'.
Written by Alanis and co-produced with John Shanks (Anastacia, Sheryl Crow), 'Eight Easy Steps' combines shimmering beats and a mammoth, explosive chorus to mesmerising effect. The striking video for the single was directed by Liz Friedlander (Dido, U2, Celine Dion) features real life footage of Alanis as a young girl and follows her to the present. The footage was taken from a variety of archive television footage, past promo videos and home movies.
Recorded at a Santa Monica studio owned by Jackson Browne, 'So-Called Chaos' entered the Top 10 upon its release earlier this year and the first single to be taken from it, 'Everything', hit the Top 20.
Since the release of 'So-Called Chaos', Alanis has been touring relentlessly and has also featured in the Cole Porter biopic 'De-Lovely' alongside an eclectic range of talent from the worlds of acting and music, such as Kevin Kline, Ashley Judd, Elvis Costello and Robbie Williams. She also played her most intimate full-band live performance to date at London's Bush Hall - a gig that also marked her first UK performance in over two years.
