McFly - ‘Room On The 3rd Floor’

The new single - released 15th November, 2004

McFly will release the title track from their Number 1 album Room On The 3rd Floor as their fourth single on 15th November, 2004. The album which debuted at the Number 1 slot when released in July has sold over 300,000 copies so far and earned the band a place in the Guinness Book Of Records as the youngest band ever to debut at Number 1 in the UK, a record previously held by The Beatles.

Room On The 3rd Floor, quite literally, is where it all began for McFly. Room 363 at London's Intercontinental Hotel is where Tom and Danny penned much of their debut album. "Staying at that hotel was brilliant for the first week," Danny remembers, "but when you're in a hotel room for two months with both of you living in the same four walls it can get a bit tedious. We got so bored that we ended up leaning against the walls with glasses, listening to other people's arguments."

McFly picked up another award last week as Best Newcomer at the Disney Awards. The boys saw off the likes of Natasha Beddingfield, The 411, Phixx and label mates V to take the award that is voted for entirely by viewers of the Disney Channel. The boys have also been nominated for Artist Of The Year at the annual Digital Music Awards - the prize is for the best band online and the winner will be announced on 19th October.

McFly have just embarked on their first full tour of the UK, taking in some of the UK's premier gig venues. The entire tour is completely sold out, an amazing feat for a band that released their first single a mere six months ago. Due to massive demand extra dates were added in Glasgow, Manchester and London, only for the tickets to be snapped up in a matter of hours.
