Since signing to Vertigo, home to Razorlight and The Killers, at the end of last year, Macdonald has had a crazy few months! She's supported as diverse a mix as Travis (her childhood idols!), fellow Scot Paolo Nutini and a sell-out tour withThirteen Senses. April saw Macdonald sell out renowned Scottish venue King Tuts and in May, she released Poison Prince, her debut limited edition single.
She picked up encouraging radio support - 'Poison Prince' was A-List on Virgin Radio, played by Jo Whiley, Sara Cox and Fearne & Reggie on Radio 1 and was on Xfm Scotland's daytime playlist, likewise with her second single 'Mr Rock & Roll.
Produced by Pete Wilkinson and mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain
(The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Clash), 'This Is The Life' is
brimming with great tunes. At just 19, Glaswegian singer-songwriter Amy
Macdonald possesses a talent way beyond her years. Having taught
herself to play the guitar at 12 and with a huge, raging desire to
write and play songs, Macdonald spent her teens perfecting her craft.
Within a few months of sending off demos recorded in her bedroom, she'd
secured a publishing deal with Warner Chappell and a record deal with
Vertigo.
Amy Macdonald has a busy summer ahead, she has already been confirmed
to play Glastonbury (22nd June), Hyde Park Calling (23rd June), T in
the Park (7th July), Guilfest (14th July), Belladrum (10th August) and
V Festival (18th or 19th August).
