This is a great result for Feist and, as you would expect with such a high visibility campaign, has significantly raised her profile and sales of the song and her album, "The Reminder".
Patrick Daughters (director) has won a CAD for Best International Video Of The Year for Feist's '1234', beating the likes of Gnarls Barkley and OkGo (with their huge viral successes). The judges were especially wowed at the skill of '1234' being completed in one single continuous shot.
Here's the making of the video
'1234' was Patrick's 3rd collaboration with Feist, having previously directed ' Mushaboom' and ' My Moon My Man'. His other videos include Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 'Maps', Kings Of Leon 'The Bucket', The Futureheads 'Hounds of Love', Bright Eyes 'Four Winds' and many more.
'1234' has had over 1 million plays on Youtube, and has even inspired copycat versions. Check out this high school student's sterling attempt with her classmates here.
Having sold close to 300,000 albums Stateside, Feist is on the cusp of breaking the US in a major way, with '1234' recently used on the HBO fall season trail.
Her most recent US appearance saw Feist and her choir of indie allstars wowing the Late Show With David Letterman - check it out here.
