One of the biggest breakthrough acts worldwide this year, Gabriella Cilmi releases a brand new single Sanctuary on Island Records available from 10th November 2008. At her smokey best, Sanctuary is taken from her debut album Lessons To Be Learned which has sold half a million copies worldwide, over 200,000 of those in the UK.
In a year which just gets better and better for the 16 year old Australian singer, the week after she became the youngest ever Q Award nominee, in their Breakthrough Act category, it has been announced that Gabriella tops the ARIA Award (Australia's Brit Awards) nominations list with six nominations. Earlier in the year she became the youngest No.1 artist in Australia with Sweet About Me, which stayed at No.1 for six weeks.
October is setting up to be a very busy month for Gabriella. She attends the Q Awards in London on October 6th 2008, she performs at the ARIA Awards in Sydney on 19th October 2008, returns to perform on Europe's biggest television show Wetten-Daaz, watched by 15 million people, and around those dates she tours the UK in her first full headline run.
