Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind

Girls Aloud get set to hit another career milestone when they release their 20th single. The greatest girl group of this millennium release the single The Loving Kind through Fascination Records.

The Loving Kind comes at a time when Girls Aloud are basking in the most successful period in their six year career. The Promise was a #1 single and #1 on the airplay chart while the recently release album Out of Control smashed into the album charts at #1.

The Loving Kind was penned by two of Britain's greatest pop songwriting teams over the last 20 years - Xenomania and The Pet Shop Boys. It shows a melancholic side to Girls Aloud we haven't seen before. 'Somewhere on a Monday morning, in a rush hour of another day, standing on a crowded platform, carelessly we lost our way,' they sing over a synth-heavy beat that shows electronica can be emotional as well.

'The Pet Shop Boys were in the studio doing some stuff for their album with Brian [Higgins] and they played us the song and we loved it' says Kimberley. 'For them to see us as part of the same pop movement is incredible.'

Cheryl elaborates, 'Neil Tennant came in and taught me a harmony and I couldn't do it… because I was so overawed.'

The Loving Kind is another future classic, pure pop perfection and showing why Girls Aloud have become one of the nation's favourite groups.

And if you wanted to see them perform live they have just announced a UK arena tour for 2009. The Out Of Control tour kicks off in Newcastle on May 5th and wraps up at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on June 5th 2009.
