It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.

Girls Unite For Comic Relief - Girls Aloud vs Sugababes

Sugababes and Girls Aloud form the ultimate girl band to release the official Red Nose Day 2007 single, their awesome cover of 'Walk This Way'. The single is released on March 12th 2007 through Fascination Records.

'Walk This Way' - made famous by Run DMC and Aerosmith - has both groups trading lines in their own unique style. They sing and rap their way through what is set to be one of the biggest hits of the year. 'Walk This Way' was produced by uber-producer Dallas Austin [Madonna / TLC].

"When Comic Relief came up with the idea of us and Sugababes doing a song together we were really excited. It makes it special as we've never done a collaboration with another group and Sugababes were a great band to duet with," says Cheryl Cole.

"We're really pleased to be working with Girls Aloud on this project. The Aerosmith/Run DMC version of the track is an all-time classic collaboration," says Keisha. "We just played around with it in the studio and had a bit of fun with it."

The video sees both bands paying homage to the classic Run DMC and Aerosmith video before they battle each other on the catwalk with the help of some of the UK's hottest comedy talent.

Sugababes and Girls Aloud are the two most critically acclaimed pop groups of their generation. Between them they have had 26 top 10 singles and nine hit albums.

Red Nose Day is on Friday 16 March 2007 and this year's theme is The Big One. Proceeds from the single will help to change the lives of vulnerable people here in the UK and Africa.
