Good Shoes - We Are Not The Same

First signings to Brille Records' already faultless roster last year, Good Shoes release the 'We Are Not The Same' EP on March 13th.

The four-strong troupe are Rhys Jones, Joel Cox, Steve Leach and Tom Jones, and together they conjour the kind of seminal three-minute pop perfection once solely the domain of The Jam and The Buzzcocks and now threatening to lurch loud and proud from the streets of Morden, South London in 2006.

Spiky dueling guitars open the lead track and pave the way for one of those beautiful, alternative love songs that will become the soundtrack to the country's teenage bedrooms. 'Southwest Trains' belies their roots in a two-minute paean to the beautiful world to be found at the end of the northern line and the chics and freaks that inhabit the 12.18 to Victoria.

The love song Good Shoes-style 'May Lannoye' precedes 'Things To Make And Do', the band's agit-track and a rail against conformity par excellence, again peppered with dancing basslines and rolling drums - "Do you believe everything you're told, I don't, do you? I want things to make and do" sneers singer Rhys.
