Howie Beck - Don't Be Afraid

HOWIE BECK follows the release of his latest album with a full European tour and the release of a brand new single. The long overdue eponymous album has been greeted with universal acclaim across the continent and confirms, as The Times puts it, that "Canada's musical stock has never stood higher."

Howie has just ended a UK tour as special guest to The 18th Day Of May. He also toured as special guest to Josh Rouse on his Scandinavian dates. He also takes part in the legendary Les Nuits Botaniques in Brussels, and performed a number of headline shows across Europe throughout May

A single has been confirmed to follow the tour. DON'T BE AFRAID is a brand new edited version of the track from his album. The single also features a stunning acoustic interpretation of The Strokes' REPTILIA which has already been doing the rounds on myspace and the internet in general. A final track, ALICE, is also taken from his latest album and won a SOCAN Number 1 song award in Beck's native Canada when it was released last year. The single is released on May 22nd .

"An emotionally articulate, beautifully plangent pop affair." Time Out, London

"A quiet treasure, majoring in sad songs about betrayal. Howie Beck almost makes misery a cool condition." Q

"...most remarkable on Howie Beck's album, however, is the enchanting anthology of melodies that accompany these emotionally devastating stories ...(an) inspired and cathartic album." Nick Kent, Liberation

"Wonderful, warm, dreamy…" The Fly

"The Toronto singer-songwriter's best to date: sad, intimate, yet poppy, too." Metro

"2006 is going to be big for this artist." DJ
