Now, two years on, he's back with his new single You Make It Real, which is out onPolydor Records. Plus he announces a UK tour which ends at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on Tuesday 25th November.
The soaring You Make It Real showcases that incredible voice that's unlike any other. It's a song about that significant other, who keeps you in check when your life is going to hell around you. It was co-written by James and Paul Barry and produced by Grammy award-winning producer Mark Taylor.
James' debut Undiscovered went straight in at Number 1 in the UK album chart in July 2006 and went on to sell over two million copies worldwide. This was an awesome feat for a then unknown 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Derby. He's since toured with Corinne Bailey-Rae and John Mayer, played alongside his hero Cat Stevens, performed at the concert for Diana (amongst other huge events), had a Top 30 album in the US and won a Brit Award for best Male in 2007 where he was nominated for three gongs. A fairytale start to anyone's career.
An impeccable and committed performer, James has spent most of his time over the last 24 months on tour across the globe, playing in America, Australia, Europe and Asia where he won over many fans. His trademark vocal also caught the ears of Atlantic Records legend Jerry Wexler who described his voice as one "you'll forever recognise".
James's new album Songs For You, Truths For Me is out soon and he'll be playing the following live dates:
November 2008 Tour Dates
Sunday 16th - Norwich UEA
Monday 17th - Lincoln Engine Shed
Wednesday 19th - Oxford New Theatre
Thursday 20th - Southampton Guildhall
Saturday 22nd - Preston 53 Degrees
