Despite the success of her debut album Made Of Bricks, Kate Nash has said she found it "nerve-wracking" playing Carling Weekend Reading Festival this weekend, admitting she was worried what the crowd reaction to her performance would be like.
"People aren't necessarily there to see you. "You dunno who's gonna turn up," explained Kate.
But she needn't have worried, as fans flocked to see her as soon as Maps concluded their set. The Carling tent subsequently overflowed with fans trying to catch the singer, with hundreds spilling outside.
Wearing a sparkly dress and clutching helium balloons, Kate opened with Mariella, closed with Merry and played crowd favourites Birds, Mouthwash, Shit Song and chart hit, Foundations from her Made Of Bricks album in between. Leaving to cheering crowds, Kate Nash need not worry about the crowd reaction in future. They love her!
The sun was smiling down on many a band at this year's festival, and the 80,000 strong crowd. In fact this was probably the first festival to take place this year with gorgeous blue-sky sunny weather.
