Leona Lewis scores Number One for second week

Leona Lewis retained her lead at the top of the UK singles chart on New Year's Eve, kicking off the new year with her debut single, A Moment Like This staying at number one for a second week.

X Factor winner, Leona Lewis, hit the festive top spot to grab this year's Christmas number one single spot - a week after winning The X Factor. A Moment Like This is the 21 year old's first single which went for sale as a download immediately as soon as she was announced as the winner.

Leona is being compared to Whitney and Mariah, and she truly has an incredible vocal talent. The interest from America has been huge and testament to this.

In getting the festive number one, Leona has knocked Take That off the top spot after five weeks, who are now at number two with Patience. The boys still retained their number one in the album charts, making their Beautiful World album the Christmas number one album.

McFly's Sorry's Not Good Enough charted at number three, with Girls Aloud close behind with their I Think We're Alone Now single at number four. Razorlight were the only other new entry in the top 20, with their new single, Before I Fall To Pieces making an entry at number 17.
