Other groups playing the Wembley Stadium leg of the concerts include Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, Foo Fighters and Razorlight, with 17 acts announced so far. The Beastie Boys, David Gray, Damien Rice and John Legend are also set to play.
Live Earth takes place on 7 July 2007 across seven continents including Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo, featuring more than 100 artists, with its objective to highlight climate change.
Completing the bill are Corinne Bailey Rae, Keane, Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party and Paolo Nutini.
Tickets will be allocated by a ballot. Fans will need to register their interest online for 72 hours from 1200 BST on Friday 13th April. Tickets will cost £55 each and ther will be a limit of two tickets per applicant. Tickets go on sale to those already registered on Wednesday 18 April.
The concerts will be 'green' themselves as they'll be using eco-friendly electricity, sustainable lighting and carbon-neutral travel.
Says former US Vice-President Al Gore, one of the events organisers,
"We hope Live Earth will launch a global campaign, giving a critical mass of people around the world the tools they need to help solve the climate crisis."
All profits will go to organisations including the Alliance for Climate Protection, the Climate Group and Stop Climate Chaos.
