"We Belong Together" - already named the biggest single in the HISTORY of both Mariah and the Island Def Jam Music Group - secured her place as the #1 most successful female artist of all time when it became her 16th song to top the Billboard Hot 100. This positions Mariah as the only active artist with the potential to surpass the Beatles (with 20 #1's) and Elvis Presley (18 #1's) in the modern era. (With 66 total weeks of #1 hits since 1990, Mariah also ranks 2nd only to Elvis, with 80 weeks.) "We Belong Together" is also Mariah's 5th #1 at the Mainstream Top 40 format, the most by any artist on that chart; and moves from #3 up to #2 on the Digital Songs chart, with 43,970 scans.
