Their label Modular must be sat back in a big leather armchair smoking a huge cigar and feeling luckier than a fat kid in a cake factory, because, from the very second Tahita launches into the synthed-up Iggy Pop vocal stylings of 'Get Lucky', we're hooked.

By the time the band has ripped beautifully into 'Descend' and sashayed through the loin-stirring sexiness of new single 'Ice Cream', we're in love. 'Peacemaker' alone is a pulsating tune of peak-era Gary Numan proportions.

If we'd have been treated to another hour of this beat-loaded, visceral, disco-pop brilliance, chances are, half the audience would've had to be mopped off the dance floor at the end of the night, such was the head of steam they were getting up.

The only place this year that ilikemusic.com has seen five new stars this bright is in the Pleiades Cluster, and if 2007 erupts into a full on chart brawl between those two heavyweights of style, cool and pop brilliance - Kate Long Blonde and Tahita NYPC - given tonight's showing, we know who our money is on. page << 1 2 3 >>
