Hotly tipped 22 year old singer/songwriter/performer Newton Faulkner released his debut album, 'Hand Built By Robots' on Ugly Truth Records on August 6 2007.
After two year's of below-the-radar gigging and recording Newton rapidly became one of 2006's DIY success stories with his first two EP's selling out their limited run of 3000 copies and reaching No 1 on the Amazon singles chart. 'Hand Built By Robots' is the result of two year's worth of songwriting and recording whilst on the road. The album showcases the incredible writing, vocal talents and skilled musicianship of the next UK music superstar in waiting.
Newton's rapid Word-of-Mouth growth has seen his Myspace garner an incredible 250,000 plays in the last year as his sell-out headline dates and support slots for Paolo Nutini and James Morrison gathered new fans and rave reviews alike.
New fans include one Jimmy Page who personally asked Newton to play at his birthday party after being blown away by his incredible guitar playing. Newton was taught guitar by the legendary Eric Roche and his use of the instrument far outstrips the norm, managing to effortlessly blend finger picking, multiple harmonics, and pulls and taps to make the guitar not only a stringed instrument but also a tool of percussion.
