The song is taken from Wolf's much-antcipated forthcoming album 'The Magic Position' and is his first release for the Loog label.
The new single will be available in three formats - as a CD with additional tracks 'Underworld' and 'Adder'; a download which also includes a track called 'Ari's Song' and as a seven-inch vinyl single featuring a live version of 'The Childcatcher', one of the stand-out songs from Wolf's much-lauded 2003 debut album,
'Lycanthropy'. The new version was recorded at An Evening With Patrick Wolf, his special concert at London's Bloomsbury theatre on 30th March this year.
'Accident & Emergency' was written, arranged and produced by Wolf and also features the voice of Edward Larrikin from Larrikin Love. Says Wolf: "'Accident and Emergency' is a pop song to hopefully strengthen someone when they're starting to feel a little weakened by catastrophy and disaster, a song for all those people who go out dancing for the night then wake up with no phone or wallet, but still manage to laugh and enjoy their headache."
'The Magic Position' follows the enormous critical success of Wolf's two previous albums, 'Lycanthropy' and 2005's 'Wind in the Wires', both of which were released on independent labels. The new album will be in stores at the start of 2007.
"If you never lose, how're you going to know when you've won? and if it's never dark, how're you going to know the sun... when it shines?"
