I can't imagine a day with no musicThe award-winning multi-platinum superstar Robin Thicke returns to centre stage this autumn with a record that is a joyful and modern tribute to the '70s soul and pop records that have inspired his career to date.
Robin's new album Something Else is released on October 13th through Star Trak/Interscope Records. Produced entirely by Robin and his long-time collaborator Pro-Jay, Something Else is described by Robin as a mixture of "classic Philly, Motown and '70s black disco".
Robin is looking to surpass the success of his previous releases, including the single Lost Without U which was a big radio airplay hit in the UK. It was taken from his twice platinum album The Evolution of Robin Thicke which was received to a chorus of rave reviews in the UK last year.
Melding the retro and the modern across 12 tracks, Something Else contains future hits like Hard on My Love, with its mesmerizing Superfly-era vocals and Gamble and Huff-inspired horn arrangements. Tracks like Side Step with its lyrical optimism and an irresistible invitation to the dance floor is inspired and sexy. Sweetest Love, You're My Baby and Miss Harmony are all tracks influenced by the romantic backdrop of Paris and the title track Something Else has a groove so insistent, it'll have the dance floor packed from the moment the opening note is played.
